Controversy As Truck Convey Second-Hand Airplane Inside Ikeja Traffic: FAAN Debunks Report of Plane Crash

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has debunked rumors of a plane crash at the Ikeja airport in Lagos on Tuesday.

In a twitted message on its official handle; @FAAN_Official, the authority said the said second hand plane was only sighted as it was being transported at Ikeja to another buyer.

“The Federal Airport Authority would like to inform the general public to disregard the news making the rounds on social media about an alleged crash at Ikeja Airport.

“The aircraft was sold by the owner to a buyer, who was taking it to its final destination” it stated

Meanwhile we Nigerians have condemned the fact that the airplane was transported through a very heavy Lagos traffic.

However, Twitter user @Taiwo16556 stated that there was nothing wrong in buying a second hand or decommissioned airplane.

“Ignorance sometimes can be funny, many don’t know that a plane can be decommissioned, sold as scrap and people who buys them remodel them into personal space.

“Some to offices, homes, some end up as tourist attractions in parks,
There is nothing wrong in buying scrap plane.

“Many can see clearly that there is no wings, it’s on wheels and it is very neat for a crashed aircraft” he said
