Maritime practitioners under the aegis of Maritime Practitioners and Advocates for Good Governance (MAPAGG) have thrown their weights behind Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to emerge as the next President of Nigeria in the coming 2023 polls.

DAILY TREND reports that stakeholders were particularly angry that the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has made things difficult for the maritime sector, especially its trial and error mode of formulating policies that affects the economy.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday, Convener and Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of MAPAGG, Alhaji Rilwan Amuni said the maritime practitioners decided to support Bola Tinubu because of his track record in governance.

According to him, among the candidates that have been coming forward, so far, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu remains the only available choice.

“We looked at his pedigree from time immemorial and we believe he can Salvage us from the injustices in the Maritime sector with his vast experiences ” Alhaji Amuni stated

He listed part of the aims and objectives of the group to include; to promote and Foster Unity, Political stability and National consciousness among members of the Maritime Industry.

“To promote and uphold Maritime practices as obtained internationally to smoothen our indigenous ports.
To promote Social welfare of Maritime practitioners”

“To sponsor or promote any eligible member by collaboration with any credible political party to elective posts Nationally, so as to promote the image of the Maritime sector”
