Customs College, Gwadalada Graduates 49 Officers of Junior Course 12

The Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College Gwagwalada has Graduated 49 Officers of Junior Course 12.

At a ceremony which took place on Friday at the Ahmed Makarfi Hall of the college, the Commandant of the College, ACG Adewale Adeniyi, said the customs service under Comptroller-General, Col Hameed Ali is committed towards training and capacity building of its officers and that this is being achieved steadily.

“We have a vision in mind and it’s about reforming the service. There are so many ways in which you can do that. The pillar on which what we do here is anchored is training and capacity building. This is the mission we have set for ourselves and, by the Grace of God, we are achieving it.” Adeniyi stated

The ceremony was graced by members of the Management of Nigeria Customs Service and other dignitaries.

High ranking officers of the Service, including the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (RTD), ably represented by the Deputy Comptroller of Customs in charge of Finance, Admin and Technical Services, David Chikan was the special guest of honour.

Other Management members in attendance were Commander Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) DCG Mohammed Boyi, DCG Excise Free Trade Zone & Industrial Incentives Kathleen Ekekezie and other ACGs.

The Special Guest of Honor stated, “I am very impressed. We are doing a good job and the standard keeps improving.
Also, the Comptroller General of Customs has promised that training is one of his cardinal points and he is ready to give all he can muster to improve the quality of our human capital.”

Certificates and Awards were presented, including the best overall student of Junior Course 12. Some of the courses the officers pass through included service writing, public speaking, and time management, amongst many others.

The graduates and high ranking officers took group photographs to cement the occasion.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, along with his management team expressed high hopes for the graduates with the expectation of becoming good ambassadors for the organisation.
