Frontline freight forwarder and former National President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Dr Eugene Nweke has snubbed a caucus meeting called by the founder of the association, Dr Boniface Aniebonam over the forthcoming elections into the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN)

DAILY TREND NEWS sighted a notice of an emergency caucus meeting purportedly conveyed by Dr Aniebonam where he invited contestants for the forthcoming CRFFN Board elections under NAGAFF and included Dr Eugene Nweke’s name.

Recall that Dr Nweke has since been declared as “persona non grata” by the NAGAFF founder since last year 2021 alongside immediate past National President of NAGAFF, Chief Increase Uche among others, for both daring to contest election into the CRFFN as independent candidates.

Since then, Dr Eugene Nweke has been standing alone in the CRFFN election contest.

It is worthy of note that on 1st March 2022, Chief Nwele had withdrew from the forthcoming CRFFN elections, sighting anomalies and lack of integrity in the electioneering process.

According to the notice of the caucus meeting signed by Francis Omotosho, Assistant Secretary General, NAGAFF Headquarters, the following contestants under NAGAFF were invited for the meeting with Dr Aniebonam:

1) Tochukwu Ezisi
2) Princes Chi Eze
3) Ibrahim Tanko
4) Ekemezie Ifeanyi
5) Chukwunonso Ejikeme
6) Umeadi Emmanuel
7) Okechukwu Okoro
8) Awogbemi Timothy
9) Henry Orarotimi
10) Ekweozor Austine
11) Ndubuisi Uzoegbo
12) Eugene Nweke

Date for the meeting is Saturday 5th March, 2022.
Venue is; NNPP/NAGAFF Guest House, Surulere.
Time: 10:00AM PROMPT

When DAILY TREND NEWS contacted Dr Nweke to confirm if he was ready to attend the meeting, he stated that the invite was a shock to him.

When our correspondent probed further, Dr Nweke simply laughed and said, he is no longer a contestant and referred to his official letter of withdrawal.

Also surprised at such invitation, he maintained his position that the system has compromised and fall short of professional regulatory council election and that he cannot be part of it.

In another development, a chieftain of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) who is also contesting in the election reacted angrily that NAGAFF had deceived other associations into believing that they were having a working understanding with the sharing formula of :6:6:1:1:1

The ANLCA big wig who pleaded anonymity told DAILY TREND NEWS that NAGAFF was playing the Joker of a sharing formula, but has another game plan reserved for itself.

Reacting to the list of contestants on the NAGAFF Invitation for a secret meeting, he said “Infact, I am feeling very terrible with the whole thing, look at the list ,12 NAGAFF officers picked contestants form, while in ANLCA we resolved that only 6 people should pick up forms.

“The worst is that my National President is not in the country. It is indeed an unfortunate situation” he said
