NPA: Apapa Youths Drum Support for E-Call Up, Sets Up Investigative Committee To Expose Distractors

The United Apapa Youth Forum (UAYF) have sent out a serious warning to the alleged distractors of the Electronic Call-Up System introduce by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) saying that the system has eradicated gridlock in Apapa.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday tagged “Employment an CSR for Apapa Youths” the forum through its President, Comrade Abdullahi Sulieman disclosed that an Investigative committee has been set up by the youths to expose beneficiaries of the traffic gridlock and wrath in Apapa.

The youths declared support for NPA Managing Director, Hadiza Bala-Usman, saying that certain interests and organisations were trying to frustrate her efforts in restoring sanity into the port environment.

Comrade Abdullahi stated that the committee set up is to investigate Hadiza Bala Usman distractors, even as he warned that the youths will personally deal with any organisation or individual so discovered.

The grand patron of the UAYF who is Chairman of the investigating committee, HRH Victor Nangibo also sent a strong warning message that the beneficiaries of the gridlock in Apapa will be dealt with dicisively.

He also warned that port concessionaires that failed to create employment for youths in Apapa as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) would no longer be regarded as friends of the Apapa community.

“Any company that are use to hiding from their Corporate Social Responsibility will not be friend of the youths anymore because, the youths of Apapa cannot fold their hands, while the employment meant for them are being sold or compromised by staff of port concessionaires”

Nangibo sent a strong warning massage to APMT Terminals, one of of leading terminal operators in Apapa to desist from hiring a foreign security firm to carryout the job of Nigerian dockworkers.

“We welcome all investors and companies with goodwill to the Apapa community, we want them to be hundred percent assured that we will not fail in ensuring the peace and safety of lives and property in Apapa as we did in the end SARS nation wide protest” he stated
