ANLCA Crisis: No One Can Remove you from Your Elected Offices, Offorbike Assures Western Zone Chapters

The Leader of Western Zone of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Sir John Offorbike has assured elected officers of Western Zone Chapters to put their minds to rest and not be intimidated by police harassment, saying that nobody can remove them from their elected positions.

The crisis which has engulfed the soul of ANLCA for the past three years got messier recently as the National Executives Committee (NECOM) unleashed police officers on Western Zone leaders, alleging that they were masterminds of a recent attack on its National President, Mr. Tony Iju Nwabunike.

Offorbike alongside Secretary of the ANLCA Board of Trustees (BOT) Prince Taiye Oyeniyi were among the prominent leaders invited by the police for questioning.

Offorbike in a message to the Western Zone members last week stated that the Force Criminal Investigation Unit (FCID) Alagbon had invited him and others in relation to the allegations raised by the Tony Iju faction and that he has since returned to his home.

According to him, the crisis in ANLCA is gradually coming to an end, and the NECOM is fighting their last battle by adopting intimidation and propaganda tactics.

He said “Being invited by the police is not passing death sentence on anyone, Police is our friend, we should not see them as our enemy, yes, we were invited by the police and we are back home”

“It’s the duty of the police to protect life and property when there’s allegation, it’s the duties of police to investigate and do the needful. Because he who alleged must prove his allegation, the police are investigating”

“Please go about your normal business and be law abiding as usual. Don’t be intimidated by the rumours of you being on the the list of those to be arrested. Don’t mind them , this is their last fight, and the end of the crisis in ANLCA is very near, hence they are putting fire left and right , with heavy propaganda everywhere , but forgetting that propaganda never wins a war”

“We were invited based on the petitions written by our brothers. We should be strong and resolute, our strength is in our collective unity. No one can remove you from your elected, either by hook or crook, only court can do that”

“Be rest assured we are marching forward no shaking, our spirit is stronger than ever, Please be law abiding no matter the provocations” he said
