International Women’s Day: MWUN Celebrates Women In Maritime

As the world on Monday celebrate the International Women’s Day, the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has expressed solidarity with women operating in the Nigerian maritime sector.

President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju in a statement on Monday called for involvement and participation of more women in the union activities and the maritime sector at large.

He also highlighted the need for women to be involved in the critical decision making process of the various agencies and parastatals.

“I on behalf of Maritime workers Union of Nigeria felicitate and stand in solidarity with all our women as they observe world international women day. Indeed strong women make stronger unions.

“We recognise the substance of women participation and voice in the world and society and we join in celebrating you all” he said
