Following the redeployment of Compt Abba Kura, the Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has gotten another area Controller in person of Yusuf Malanta Ibrahim.
Public Relations Officer of the command, Abubakar Usman confirmed to DAILY TREND NEWS on Tuesday that Malanta is expected to arrive and take over control of the command any moment from now.
Menwhile, Comptroller Abba Kura has now been promoted as an Assistant Comptroller General and has now been redeployed to the Customs headquarters as ACG Headquarters.
Yusuf Malanta with a strong ICT background backed with revenue leakage prevention capacity, is expected to oversee customs operations at the service flagship command with highest volume of trade and revenue collection.
The new Apapa Customs boss became a popular name when he served at the Apapa Command as Deputy Comptroller in charge of Asycuda; Asycuda Project Manager (APM)
Reliable sources confirmed to our correspondent at the command today that Compt Abba Kura would be handing over to the new Area Controller next week Monday.
Abba-Kura in 2019 had taken over from Comptroller Abubakar Bashir, who got appointed as Acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) and posted to the service headquarters in Abuja.
Before then, Abba-Kura was the Controller in charge of Zone A office of Post Clearance Audit (PCA)
