MWUN Extols SIFAX Group As Best Seaport Terminal Operator of the Year 2020

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has adjudged SIFAX Group as the Best Terminal Operator of the Year 2020.

SIFAX Group is an indigenous conglomerate with strings of businesses in Nigeria, including operation of Ports and Cargo Terminal at the Tin Can Island Port Lagos, about five Bonded Terminals scattered around Lagos, and a host of others.

In a letter of appreciation addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of SIFAX Group, Barr Taiwo Afolabi, signed by the President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, the union praised the terminal operator for providing adequate welfare for its members and maintaining peace and tranquility in its operations.

Comrade Adeyanju noted that even though other terminal operators are also doing well in terms of workers welfare, SIFAX Group however remains the best among them all.

He commended Barr Afolabi and the entire management for the company for improvements they have brought to bear in the maritime sub-sector of the nation’s economy.

“I have particulariy taken note of the prevailing peace and tranquility in your terminal which is due to your adherence to national and international standards; provision of good staff condition of service cum convivial work eanronment to our members”

“I sincerely appreciate your provision of high working standards which has made your terminal a safe place to work. Indeed, your management style is worthy of emulation by other terminal operators in the industry”

“We appreciate your high moral standard and your pursuit of justice and equality in all human endeavours”

“We the members of the union in consideration of the foregoing adjudged you as the BEST’TERMINAL OPEBATOR of year 2020” the letter reads

The MWUN President General reiterated the union’s commitment to giving support and ensuring that maritime operations in Nigeria attains its of excellence in Africa.
