The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has expelled its Tin Can Island Chapter Secretary, Mr Emeka Nwosu for filing a litigation, in his personal capacity, against the tenure elongation in the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN)

Nwosu was expelled on 9th of December in a suspension letter reportedly signed by the NAGAFF National President, Chief Increase Uche on behalf of the BOT.

Sources within NAGAFF confirmed to our correspondent that the NAGAFF “High Command” was angry that Nwosu and four others (not members of NAGAFF) as plaintiffs approached the Federal High Court to seek interpretation on extention of tenure by elected members of the CRFFN.

The petition written by the expelled NAGAFF Secretary was written in his personal capacity, majorly to address the anomalies in the CRFFN of which the various associations have failed to address.

The source said “In the suspension letter, nothing was stated as his offence, no section of the constitution was quoted”

“The suspension letter was signed by NAGAFF President, Increase Uche because he could not withstand the pressure and threats, this is because the NAGAFF constitution doesn’t have any provision for expulsion, the constitution also stated that you must not take any member to court without due consultation within the association”

“You are aware that their tenure has expired, and they are going to all corners, looking for how to buy another two years. Again, the Registrar of CRFFN’s qualifications and the manner he was employed was false, as at the time of his employment, he does not have any document”

“He claimed to have attended a school in Western London that started issuing certificate in 1992, but he claimed to have graduated in 1988”

“He was employed as a civil servant, but now, he is collecting salaries and living on allowances like a political appointee, these are the issues sinking the CRFFN and why it cannot breathe”

“Nwosu never mentioned NAGAFF in his petition, neither did he state that he was the secretary of NAGAFF at Tin Can Island chapter.
The four others he wrote the petition with, are registered members of Council, and not members of NAGAFF”

When he was contacted, the embattled Nwosu confirmed to our correspondent that he was indeed expelled from NAGAFF.
He however said that “Based on my decision with my family, I have decided not to say anything”

Recall that this is not the first time he was coming under the axe of the NAGAFF leadership.
The Tin Can Secretary was suspended one time for criticising the Nigerian Shippers Council, he was also dealt with during the EndSars campaign, when he took up a campaign against the Customs FOU without the blessings of the headquarters.

Meanwhile, the case against the CRFFN is coming up again on 11th of March.

When our correspondent contacted the National President of NAGAFF, Chief Increase Uche, he confirmed that the association has suspended its Tin Can Chapter Secretary.

Increase said “I signed the letter of his expulsion but the reasons for his expulsion was the litigation against the CRFFN which he was involved”
