Election Day Misfortune: Boat Carrying INEC Staff, Voting Materials Capsize in Ondo
Even as the gubernatorial elections has kicked off in Ondo State, a boat conveying electoral materials and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State has been involved in mishap.
The boat reportedly capsized on its way to deliver voting materials to polling units in the Ilaje area of Ondo state.
However, no one died as all the passengers were put on life jackets while onboard.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the incident.
He stated that the development won’t affect the election.
He maintained that the materials were also not affected.
He said, “It happened but it was a minor mishap because there was no casualty, and nothing happened to the election materials, everything is intact.”
