9 Vessels Flood PTML Terminal with Over 3000 Used Vehicles

No fewer than nine vessels have been listed to arrive the Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) with 3,153 units of used vehicles.
The vessels were billed to arrive the terminal between 3rd to 26th of July 2020 and they are handled by Grimaldi Shipping, owners of the PTML Terminal in Nigeria.
Since the Federal Government had increased the tariff on imported vehicles from 20 per cent to 70 per cent as part of the auto policy introduced seven years ago, the taste of many Nigerians for used and damaged vehicles have increased.
According to a document released by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on ships expected in the country, a vessel named GRANDE DAKAR is expected to have discharged 400units of used vehicles at the terminal on 3rd of July.
Another vessel called Grande Costa D’ Avario, is also expected to have discharged 350 units of the used vehicles.
For 5th of July, Glovis Safety discharged 253 units of used vehicles at the terminal.
Further breakdown of the discharges showed that Grande Senegal is expected with 300 units of used vehicles on July 17th, Grande Lagos is expected with 400 units on July 8th, Grande Cameroun is expected on 14th with 350 units.
Grande Cotonou is expected with 400 units on July 14th, Grande Ghana is to come in on 15th July with 350 units and Grande Morocco would be discharging another 350 units on July 16th.
