The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has commended Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi for sitting the Transport University in Daura, Katsina State.

A prominent freight forwarder from Kano State and member of Freight Forwarders Investigation Panel of CRFFN, Fwdr Miftahu Ya’u gave the commendation in Abuja on Monday after an etra-ordinary meeting of stakeholders of some selected Northern freight forwarders.

Fwdr Ya’u is also a former NAGAFF Vice President Northwest, Air logistics, Inland Container Depots/Dry ports

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday performed the ground breaking ceremony for the  Transportation University in Daura, Katsina on Monday.

Ya’u told DAILY TREND NEWS that “We held the emergency meeting in order to salute the courage of the Transportation Minister RT. Hon Chibueke Rotimi Amaechi for an historic effort of facilitating the siting of the Transportation University in Daura at the right time”

“It is critical to have an institution of higher learning to produce indigenous future managers who would help maintain the various infrastructures under construction by the government of Muhammad Buhari; hence, the choice of Daura City for the university”

“The location was strategic, and it was done for the good of the nation”

The former NAGAFF Vice President noted that with the establishment of the university, transportation stakeholders from the northern region who are lagging behind in the industry, despite the vast sources of revenue the government is generating from the zone, would definitely have easy access to various degrees in transportation related disciplines in the near future.

“We also commends other people’s effort like the Permanent Secretary of the Transportation Ministry, Alhaji Sabi’u Zakari, and other staffs of the ministry towards realising this development. It is worthwhile to thank Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari for providing 413 hectares for the construction of the university”

“We therefore, call on the president Muhammad Buhari and his government to note the various achievements brought about to the north and other part of the country by Transportation Ministry under the exemplary and patriotic leadership of Rotimi Amaechi, whose vision’s always is to have an enabling environment for better transportation services through out Nigeria”

The indefatigable member of the CRFFN Investigation Panel, was the only candidate out of the 16 candidates screened by CRFFN to contest the last CRFFN Governing Board election.

He however did not make it to the Council following his disqualification in a controversial way by the screening committee three days to the election day.

The disqualification was as a result of a sudden withdrawal of his nomination by NAGAFF, his association.
