The Executive Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Apapa chapter, Hon. Emeka Chukwumalu, has urged maritime stakeholders and Nigerians at large to embrace forgiveness, love, and tolerance during this Easter season, as Christians commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Reflecting on the sacrifice of Christ, Chukwumalu quoted John 15:13: “Greater love hath no man hath than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” He emphasized that the ultimate act of love demonstrated by Jesus should inspire Nigerians to live selflessly, carry one another’s burdens, and prioritize peace and unity in both personal and professional dealings.

According to him, the death of the sinless Christ for a sinful world is a profound lesson in compassion and humility. He noted that when individuals put others first, it creates room for lawful business transactions, strengthens trust, and fosters peaceful coexistence among diverse groups in Nigeria.

Chukwumalu further encouraged Christians who have just completed 40 days of fasting and prayer to intercede for Nigeria’s continued economic prosperity and the suppression of insecurity. He stressed that the nation’s progress depends not only on policy but also on the collective prayers and moral commitment of its people.

Beyond Nigeria, he called for prayers to de-escalate conflicts in the Middle East and other troubled regions of the world. He reminded Nigerians that Jesus Christ dedicated His earthly ministry to preaching forgiveness, love, peace, and tolerance, and urged everyone to emulate these values in their daily lives.

“Easter is not just a celebration of victory over death,” Chukwumalu said. “It is a call to action—to forgive, to love, and to work tirelessly for peace. If we can embody these virtues, Nigeria and the world will be better for it.”
