In a remarkable display of academic consistency, Dr. Hope Orivri, a prominent maritime journalist and scholar, graduated for the fourth time from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) during the institution’s 56th Convocation Ceremonies on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The Publisher of OnePage Africa was awarded an Executive Master’s degree in Public Health (EMPH) from the University of Lagos Business School (ULBS).
This latest achievement adds to her burgeoning academic portfolio, which includes a PhD in Communication for Development (Mass Communication) from the same institution, where she recently gained acclaim for her research on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) behaviors.
Dr. Orivri has long been a respected voice in the Nigerian maritime sector. Her transition into Public Health signals a strategic expansion of her expertise, blending her communication background with critical health advocacy.
Dr Orivri has commended the University of Lagos Business School (ULBS) for the quality of instruction and academic rigour of the EMPH programme, describing the facilitators as exemplary.
“I am taking away with me a culture of dedication to excellent work, however tough the process of getting it done may appear,” she said.
She also highlighted the growing importance of public health and wellness, urging individuals and communities to prioritise regular health checks.
“My knowledge of public health as a result of the EMPH programme has made me more concerned about the health status of people. We see how individuals commit themselves to all manner of work and daily activities, yet fail to give the same attention to their health. We must become more intentional about our health conditions,” she added.
She noted that the programme has further strengthened her advocacy for preventive healthcare and community wellness.
