Port Terminal Operator Begins Enforcement of New Tax Laws, Demand TIN, NIN for Cargo Invoice, Receipts Processing

There are indications that port terminal operators have now commenced enforcement of the Nigeria Tax Administration Act (NTAA) 2025, even as one of them, Five Star Logistics Terminal at Tin Can Island Port has set December 29th, 2025.
The Five Star Logistics Terminal, owners of Comet Shipping, in a Notice sighted by DAILY TREND on Monday stated that Tax Identification Number is now compulsory requirement for invoice and receipt processing.
“Attention to all agents/receivers, in line with Federal government directive, all agents are required to update their tax identification number (TIN) or National Identification Number (NIN) following the link below…
For individuals without TIN, kindly use your NIN number as your TIN number” the notice read in part.
The Roll-on Roll-off Terminal further sets different enforcement dates for the Tax laws as it concerns cargo clearance, saying that Enforcement Date When generating Shipping or Terminal payment receipt (on-site) is Dec 29, 2025
