Shettima Presents NPA Boss, Dr. Dantsoho with Leadership In Action Award at PEBEC Gala Awards Ceremony

In an effort to boost efficiency at the seaports, the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) set up a Ports & Customs Efficiency Committee to enhance coordination between the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigerian Customs Service.
The goal is to reduce cargo dwell time and implement joint vessel examination to lower transit costs and delays.
Led by the Nigerian Ports Authority, this initiative has achieved significant results, including shorter vessel turnaround times and faster cargo clearance.
In recognition of this dedication to improving service delivery, PEBEC presented the Nigerian Ports Authority with the Leadership In Action Award
While accepting the award, the Managing Director, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, stated that this is a commitment to achieve even more.
The Ports & Customs Efficiency Committee (PCEC) is a collaborative initiative between Nigeria’s Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to improve efficiency at Nigerian ports.
Launched in April 2025, the committee aims to reduce cargo dwell times, streamline processes, and eliminate bottlenecks by implementing practical solutions and enhancing collaboration between stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
