Maritime Law Association Elects Mike Igbokwe As President, Emeka Akabogu Vice, Nneka Obianyor, Others

The Nigerian Maritime Law Association (NMLA), an affiliate of the Comité Maritime International (CMI), has elected new executive members headed by Mr Mike Igbokwe SAN, Emeka Akabogu SAN as 2nd Vice President and Mrs. Nneka Obianyor as Honorary Secretary.
The new Executive Committee were elected at the association’s 16th Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
The newly elected leadership team will steer the Association into the next phase of its mission to promote the advancement of maritime law and practice in Nigeria.
The members of its new Executive Committee elected to serve are:
• President: Mr. Mike Igbokwe, SAN, FCArb, FBR
• 1st Vice President: Professor Adewale Adedamola Olawoyin, SAN, FCIArb.
• 2nd Vice President: Dr. Emeka Akabogu, SAN
• Honorary Secretary: Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, FCArb.
• Assistant Secretary: Mr. ‘Nonso Azih
• Treasurer: Chief Omolola Ikwuagwu FCIArb.
• Financial Secretary: Ms Kashimana Tsumba
• Publicity Secretary: Mrs. Mojisola Jaiye-Gbenle.
Members of the Association have also expressed their confidence in the team’s competence and commitment, wishing it smooth sailing as it leads the Association to greater heights in advancing maritime legal practice and law in Nigeria.
