NPA Facilitates Export of 500,000Tonnes of Petroleum Products from Dangote Refinery

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed that it has facilitated the exportation of over 500,000Tonnes of petroleum products to other African countries from the Dangote Refinery in March 2026.

Managing Director of NPA, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho stated this recently at the stakeholders engagement organised by the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy in Lagos.
Dr Dantsoho states that despite the war in the middle east which has affected the movement of vessels supplying petroleum products to nations across the world, Nigeria remains strong in supply of the product to its citizens and for export.

The NPA boss attributed the successes to the successful implementation of the One-Stop-Shop (OSS), one of the policies initiated by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola which states that all stakeholders operating at the Dangote Refinery must be on the same page in operations.

“In many countries around the world today, workers are asked to work from home, in many countries of the world today, they are queueing up for energy, but in Nigeria we have not seen that.

“As a matter of fact, we have in the last one month exported petroleum products worth 500,000Tonnes from Dangote Refinery to other African countries. These are done by ships, and the ships are treated by capability of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in terms of ports and cargo operations.

“The policy that led to this achievements are the ones approved by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, starting from the One Stop Shop (OSS) hosted by NPA where we have been doing what is similar with the National Single Window. Here, everybody that has anything to do with the Dangote Refinery is on the same page” Dr Dantsoho said
