APFFLON Welcomes Tunji Disu as IG of Police, Canvasses Improved Welfare of Officers, Retired Personnel

The Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) has congratulated the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Tunji Disu , on his appointment and assumption of office.

The association has also called for Improved welfare of serving officers and retired personnel.

APFFLON in a press release signed by its President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite on Thursday noted that his emergence came at a critical time when Nigeria requires decisive leadership to strengthen national security, restore public confidence in the Police Force, and address emerging criminal threats affecting economic and strategic sectors.

“As stakeholders in the nation’s logistics and maritime value chain, we emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive retraining and reorientation of officers toward intelligence-led policing, professionalism, and respect for human rights. Modern security challenges demand improved capacity, technological integration, and stronger inter-agency collaboration.

“We also call for immediate attention to the welfare of serving officers and retired personnel. Enhanced working conditions, adequate equipment, improved remuneration, and a sustainable pension structure are essential to boosting morale and ensuring integrity within the Force.

“A reformed, disciplined, and well-motivated Police Force remains fundamental to national stability, investor confidence, and economic growth.

“APFFLON assures the Inspector-General of its readiness to collaborate in promoting secure trade corridors and strengthening national security architecture.
