Amidst Covid-19 Scare, CRFFN Set to Hold Freight Forwarders Training at UNILAG

To avoid escalation of COVID-19 cases at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), the authorities had recently ordered students to vacate campus while all learning would be done virtually.
However, the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) in collaboration with with Institute of Maritime Studies of UNILAG has said that notwithstanding the Covid-19, the Council commencing its diploma lecture for Freight forwarders.
The lectures which was expected to kick-start today 26th to 31st of July, was later rescheduled to commence 16th of August 2021 at the Arthur Mbanefo Digital Reaserch Centre.
The programme is titled “Intensive Executive Professional Diploma in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Management for Experienced Executives in the Freight Forwarding and Logistics Industry”
In a chat with DAILY TREND NEWS, Dr Alban Igwe, Head of Education and Reaserch for CRFFN confirmed that the lectures would commence, not minding Covid-19 scare.
According to him, “Unilag is not closed down. Workers still go to work. Covid 19 protocols will be complied with”
Dean of Students Affairs (DSA) of UNILAG, Mr Ademola Adeleke had informed UNILAG students recently to leave the school’s hostels.
He said “Lectures for the rest of the semester will be delivered virtually with effect from July 26, 2021,”
COVID-19 cases have continued to soar in Nigeria amid concerns over the resurgence of a third wave of the pandemic. New cases have surged in recent times, climbing to 1,249 between July 1 and 13, with Lagos being the epicenter of the spread.
