CRFFN Allegedly Harbouring 13 Ghost Workers

There are indications that the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) may be harbouring thirteen ghost workers on its payroll.

This is coming even as the Council prepares to submit its Personnel Budget on June 1st, 2020.

A board member of CRFFN and President of Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN) dropped the indication on a social media platform yesterday.

The Registrar CRFFN, Barrister Samuel Nwakohu has however admitted that the Council can no longer afford to pay its personnel because the agency was heavily indebted.

According to Mr Daura, the thirteen ghost workers on CRFFN payroll are; AdehiJane 3/3,Bobai Solomon 5/2, Njoku Goodness, Ozioma 6/2, Obalowu Abiodun, Mohammed 7/4, Oguntuase Oleye, Ezekiel 7/4, Ugwu Ifeoma Helen 7/4.

Others are; Sule, Samson Bello 7/4, Ojo Oyindamola 7/4, Adugo Ifeoma Helen 7/4, Ahmad Umar Ahmad 7/4, Edosomwan Kelvin Iredua 7/4, Ojong, Bang Emmanuel 7/4, Badamosi Yetunde Farida 8/2

Bala in the leaked memo said “The Audit has raised a strong query on 13 identified Goast workers on CRFFN payrolls in the above names”

“The said Audit Query relates to gross violations of procedure, PRS & FR as follows; 1. No official Memo iro the recruitment from Head of HR to Management
2, No Management approval
3, No Management Minutes to document same
4. Worst of all, no Variation Order (VO)
5. No Audited VO
All the above are in gross violations of PSR, FR & Due process/procedures, and therefore null & void”

Registrar of CRFFN, Barrister Nwakohu revealed that the agency had been operating with lean resources.

According to him, the agency does not have the needed resources to settle most of its staff who have been trans­ferred to different locations.

“We are heavily indebted; most of our staff, who were transferred to new locations, the rules of engagement states that you have to provide some money to settle them and most times we have not been able to do that and the staff have make some sacrifices and we are still waiting for the day, we will be able to sort some of those things out,”

“Funding is a problem, especially overhead; I am beginning to sound like a broken record when I say my overhead for a year is approximately N33.3million” he said
